SLO community uses mission to come together

California’s missions create a trail of history down the coast. Mission SLO de Tolosa is a popular place for weddings and funerals to be held, and the church is still in use for services. It is a unique place for the community to gather together.

Many SLO residents and businesses post about the mission on Twitter, showing its importance to the community as well as encouraging visitors to pay the mission a visit.

The SLO community has also used the mission as a place to gather and support one another. In this instance, they held a candlelight vigil to after a rally held in downtown SLO to protest the immigration ban and border wall proposed by President Trump (The Tribune).

The mission is clearly an important facet of the SLO community, as many people post about the mission’s charms as a historical landmark.



The mission’s importance to the surrounding community, as a place to gather or to welcome visitors, is clear.
